تعتقد الولايات المتحدة بوجود “إمكانية حقيقية” بأن تجري كوريا الشمالية اختبارًا نوويًا أو أن تستعرض قوّتها بطريقة أخرى تزامنا مع أول زيارة للرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن إلى آسيا منذ تولى منصبه، وفق ما أفاد مسؤول كبير.
وقال مستشار الأمن القومي الأميركي جيك سالفيان “تعكس معلوماتنا الاستخباراتية إمكانية حقيقية” بأن تجري بيونغ يانغ اختبارات لصاروخ بقدرات نووية أو لأسلحة نووية تزامنًا مع زيارة بايدن.
وأضاف أن الجيش الأميركي على استعداد “للقيام بتعديلات على الأمدين القصير والبعيد” إذا لزم الأمر.
